What is MoonCraft?
MoonCraft is a massive multiplayer Minecraft server by the creators of SafeMoon. The SafeMoon Team is looking not only to create a Minecraft Server where the community can play together on the well-known sandbox game. They are building a testbed for all different technologies that will be an essential part of the future. MoonCraft is going to change the way we see a magnitude of things such as NFT’s, the way we make in-game payments such as microtransactions and so much more. Let’s break this down.
NFT’S and MoonCraft?
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable. NFTs can be used to represent items such as photos, videos, audio, and other types of digital files. Access to any copy of the original file, however, is not restricted to the buyer of the NFT. While copies of these digital items are available for anyone to obtain, NFTs are tracked on blockchains to provide the owner with proof of ownership that is separate from copyright.
So how does this affect MoonCraft? Minecraft servers are vastly known for their Skins within different game modes. For example, MC Prisons is highly known for the Skins of its pickaxes. They have multiple tiers of skins from common to legendary which are only accessible through crates within the game, which we will come back to later. So with NFT’s being art, there is a huge market to create its own market with Skin NFT’s. I see this as a ready player one-style concept where you are the only one with Mario Skin or Sonic Skin but instead of a character, it’s a pickaxe. This is just one form of NFT’s they can go down but it’s a start on where I see the team can take SafeMoon NFT’s, especially within games.
As mentioned previously Minecraft servers are vastly known for the way they make their profits when they look to sell the likes of Key/Crates and also Skins. Players would look to purchase crates or keys with Fiat (Government Issued Currency) that would then be useable in-game to take a chance at gaining a powerful item. This can create a pay-to-win system, which I know the team has heavily tried to avoid with MoonCraft, but not to say there are some powerful items. So how does this link to SafeMoon? Well with the standard way of buying these in-game items it’s as mentioned done with fiat. But what if we can now make it so we have in-game items being purchased with Crypto? This doesn’t mean it has to stay with SafeMoon but just paying with Crypto for in-game items sounds exciting as it opens up the door to bigger things. For example Riot Games, The Multi-billion dollar gaming company. What if they began to integrate the system the team has designed. It would allow SafeMoon and other currencies to access an industry that isn’t really connected to crypto yet. Then you apply the small slice from the likes of Riot games and include reflections in some way. Boom! You’ve created another use case that SafeMoon didn’t have at the beginning.
The team is not just creating a Safe Space for community members to enjoy. It’s creating a platform that can ultimately be another catalyst to SafeMoon that we might not have had the connection to before. As we learn more and dive deeper into their new partnership with StarFruit it just adds to their portfolio on what they can achieve in the future. I can’t wait for the server to go live and see what work the team has done following this partnership. It is an exciting moment when we see not only MoonCraft, but SafeMoon’s Eco-System comes together!
